Vacancies
We are currently a small committee struggling to cover all the roles necessary to keep the WSPC alive and kicking. If you have any time you could give to help us out we would be eternally grateful. We have large roles and small roles and even if you are not keen on joining the committee as such we still have jobs you could do to help ease the workload.
Please join us if you can, without a team of volunteers behind the scenes the antenatal classes and parent education classes would not happen.
Here are some areas that you might be interested in helping in:
- If you have an interest and/or knowledge in seeking funding through grants we would be very keen to hear from you for our Grants Officer position.
- We would love to get the word out about our high quality classes. We have traditionally relied on word of mouth advertising and this can only get you so far. If you have skills in marketing and communications - consider joining out committee in Advertising Coordinator role.
- We are always keen to organise more parenting education classes - like baby signing, baby massage, toilet training, pregnant again, and lots more. We'd love a bit more help to get these off the ground. If you're interested in learning something in particular perhaps you could help us organise a class (or two?) or join as Parent Education Convenor - the low-level details of advertising the class to members, booking, getting payments are automated - we need an "overseer"!
- The Sandbox is a great publication and we want to include information and articles about Wellington South Parent Centre in every issue. If you think you can help us write an article or two about your parenting experiences or anything else then let us know - it would be ideal to have a team of people willing to contribute content from time to time whenever they feel like doing it or when we are forwarded a topic from the regional committee in charge of The Sandbox.
- We are in dire need of a dedicated Secretary
- For years WSPC has been running without a President
If you think you can just help out for the odd job then we'd still love to hear from you!
The next Committee meeting is on Wednesday, 21st of April 2010. We would love to welcome you there if you do decide to help us!
