Childbirth Courses (Antenatal)
This course prepares parents to be and support people for childbirth and becoming parents, in a friendly, informal way.
Topics covered in the course include:
- Preparation for labour
- Signs and stages of labour
- Pain relief and interventions
- Relaxing and coping techniques
- Breastfeeding
- Coping with "life after birth"
- Equipment for baby, and "tips and tricks"
Once classes are completed, WSPC help the participants to form an informal support group.
There are two course options:
Seven-Week Class: held on a weekday evening (7pm-9pm) once a week for seven weeks.
Saturday Intensive: held over two consecutive Saturday sessions (9am-4pm each day).

Cost: $205.00 (includes one year's membership to WSPC, and attendance at an additional session - "Practical Parenting").
Bookings: Bookings and pre-payment are essential (early booking is recommended)
Class Size: Limited to 12 couples
All classes are held at the Home of Compassion, Murray Street, Island Bay.
